INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

The International Day of Yoga was created in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly with the aim of raising awareness of the benefit of yoga to a worldwide audience. The theme for this year is "yoga at home" and "yoga with the family".

Why not have your own yoga day at home with these practices - suitable for everyone in the family to enjoy. Both will open in YouTube.

GENTLE WARMING YOGA PRACTICE

A gentle, flowing yoga practice to release tension in your body and prepare you for the stillness of relaxation.

You might like to have a block (or a thick book) and a blanket handy.

GUIDED RELAXATION

A 20 minute guided relaxation. Ideal to use as a pick you up during the day or to help you drift off to sleep. It's a good idea to set a timer just in case you do fall asleep :-)


You will need:

  • a soft surface to lie on

  • blanket to cover you

  • folded blanket or cushion for your head (optional)

  • cushion/rolled blanket/bolster to support the knees if you like that feeling for your lower back

  • an eye pillow or scarf to cover your eyes
